CSACS was created in 2002 and aims at understanding and developing self-assembly methods; i.e., phenomena whereby small units assemble into much larger-scale structures and patterns. Nature routinely does this by forming complex architectures from simple building blocks.
CGCC was created in 2009 and aims at developing the green chemistry and catalysis area; i.e., the means to develop and implement chemical products and processes for reducing or eliminating the use and generation of substances hazardous to human health and the environment.
