Our research focuses
on transition metal complexes, organometallic compounds
and materials based on these molecules. Their rich variety
of structures and electronic states determines chemical,
photochemical, optical and magnetic properties, all of interest
for many modern applications. We apply a series of advanced
spectroscopic methods, including luminescence, absorption
and Raman measurements at ambient conditions and also at
variable temperatures and pressures in our studies. Quantum-mechanical
models provide a quantitative route to the analysis and
understanding of the experimental observations, allowing
us to discover guidelines for the research of systems with
optimized properties.
